We are pleased to welcome Kris Torgeson as the incoming Executive Director of MSF Access. She comes to the role with extensive experience both within and beyond Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and considerable expertise in global health, access to medical tools and broader humanitarian landscape.
Kris has worked in the global health and humanitarian sector for more than 20 years, including over 14 years with Médecins Sans Frontières. During that time, she served as International Secretary General from 2008-2012 and as Communications Director of MSF USA, among other roles.
Most recently, Kris served as Global CEO of Lifebox, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the safety of surgery and anesthesia worldwide. She was the founding Executive Director for The Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) USA. She is also a member of the MSF Transformational Investment Capacity (TIC) selection committee and is a former board member of the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi) North America, All Out, and ALIMA USA.
Kris will assume her role as Executive Director of MSF Access on 1 September 2026.
Under her leadership, MSF Access will further build on its work to improve access to affordable, quality medicines and healthcare products. We look forward to working together to strengthen our advocacy, analysis, and communication, deepen our connection to our medical humanitarian operations, and further develop external stakeholder engagement, all with the aim of ensuring that lifesaving medicines, vaccines, diagnostics, and other medical tools reach the people who need them most.
