US attacks on India's patent law

Attacks by US government and industry on India’s patent law and generic competition began to intensify after India issued a compulsory license in 2012 and further amplified after the Indian Supreme Court’s landmark 2013 decision to uphold the rejection of a patent for a life saving leukemia drug.
