Phumeza takes TB Petition to World Health Assembly Delegates

Phumeza Tisile, a former XDR-TB patient, takes the ‘Test Me, Treat Me’ Drug-Resistant TB Manifesto to the 67th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. Over fifty-five  thousand people signed the petition that calls for urgent action to improve treatment for people living with drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB). Phumeza makes an intervention on May 19th, during the WHA discussion on a resolution for a new global plan for TB. On May 21st, Phumeza hands over the petition signatures to Dr. Mario Raviglione, Director of the Global TB department at the World Health Organization. The petition is now closed.
