Take the world's most neglected people who live in remote tropical communities with little or no access to healthcare and add disease. The result is an incredible burden of disease with little support from pharmaceutical companies to prioritize their health needs.
Many of the disease that make up the "neglected tropical diseases" or NTDs are largely diagnosed and treated with methods developed in the early 1900s.
We need to do better.
