Meningitis: a new, more efficient vaccine

 

MSF conducted over 7 million vaccinations for meningitis in 2009 in the region of Africa known as the "meningitis belt". With the introduction of a new vaccine which is the result of a partnership between the World Health Organization, the Serum Institute and PATH, MSF is hoping to be begin a systematic "vaccination for prevention" campaign, where before we've only been able to be reactive to outbreaks.
