In April, 11 MSF staff joined the University College London Hospital (UCLH) Find and Treat team in establishing the UK’s only Covid care facility for people experiencing homelessness. The project provided rapid testing, accommodation for self-isolation and medical care for members of the London homeless community with suspected or confirmed COVID-19. Photograph by MSF

On 14 October 2020, six UK civil society organisations, including Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) UK and MSF Access Campaign, sent an open letter to UK government representatives calling for UK support for India and South Africa’s landmark proposal for a waiver from intellectual property protections for COVID-19 medical technologies.

The letter accompanies a global civil society letter sent to WTO members ahead of the TRIPS Council (Trade-related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights Agreement) meeting at the World Trade Organization (WTO) 15-16 October 2020.
