In Ukraine, MSF delivers lifesaving care near the frontlines through emergency support to hospitals, mobile clinics, ambulances, early rehabilitation, and mental health. Drones, missiles, artillery, and aerial bombs continue killing and injuring patients and staff, damaging medical facilities, and preventing people from reaching healthcare. Attacks on energy infrastructure, even far from the frontline, severely impact heating, and water in hospitals and leave emergency services relying on generators that can fail. Facilities are desperately understaffed. Vulnerable people are suffering from hypothermia and mental health needs are increasing because of lack of heating in extreme cold temperatures. MSF calls again for respect of the sick and wounded, of medical structures, and of medical personnel, with special attention to near-frontline areas.
