DNP+ Letter to Indian Prime Minister
In advance of a round of negotiations help in New Delhi between officials from the European Commission and the Indian Government, the Delhi Network of Positive People (DNP+) sent a letter to Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.
Writing on behalf of patient groups, people living with HIV (PLHIV) networks, HIV & public health organisations, medical organisations, public interest groups and individuals, the letter expressed concerns surrounding the signing of a free trade agreement between the European Union and India. The major concern being that the FTA could severely impact the ability for patients in the developing world to access affordable generics currently produced in India.
